It was a weekend for family. No internet. No email. No blogging. No facebook. The morning of July 4 started out a little disappointing. Over cast, rainy, and cold. But we were determined.. So we took off to the parade in Exira. A line of umbrellas protected us from the mist and spittle that fell all morning. Thus the reason why I have no photos. Everyone was cold and slightly miserable, so we left early.
The whole family stopped to visit Ryan's grandma in Audubon for lunch. Nothing like burgers and hot dogs on a charcol grill with a little potato salad and baked beans. Just as we left the rain stopped.
In the car I checked my cell phone. I'd forgotten about it believe it or not. My aunt called. They were only a few miles away visiting my uncle's family. Can't beat spending time with both families in one weekend! It was so great to see them, if only for an hour.
Before we knew it we were off to the park to see fireworks. And apparently play on the equipment...
